Home Transformation: Exterior
This well loved but very dated 97' home in The Gardens needed some urgent TLC to get it ready for it's next chapter. We cleared out the yard and pulled down the rotting timber fence. We also removed the brick patio, washing line, grass and cracked driveway.
The exterior and roof of the house itself had a thorough wash and repaint to modernize the home and increase the lifespan of the brick and tile.
To maximize usuable outdoor space, we retained up along the side boundary to flatten out the sloped yard and built our trademark PVC privacy fence in white, with a lockable pedestrian gate for easy access and added security. The grass was replaced with roll out turf, and a low maintence garden went in with primarily New Zealand natives. We built a large timber deck to increase the outdoor living and dining area, and built a custom bar leaner and BBQ nook at the end of the deck. The shared timber fenceline was revived with a coat of paint, and the existing raised garden was planted with a hedge of Griselinia to create a natural "wall" as it grows. A slimline washing line went in along the side of the house right outside the laundry.
At the front of the house, we retained just inside the boundary line to raise the sloped lawn up to create an additional parking space perfect for a boat or car. A fresh concrete drive was poured to give new life to the parking spaces. We added in a Photinia hedge along the retained parking to bring a touch of privacy and color.
